Directions:Every week you should do at least ten of these sketches, for a total of 40 for the month. Draw someone's face and head as quickly as possible--in one minute if you can--certainly in no more than five minutes. Try to draw these sketches from life, not from a photo. Don't make people sit still and pose, just draw them while they're talking, moving, working--whatever. Part of the challenge is trying to capture someone's gesture and features in an expressive way, even if that person is moving. You may have to take a snapshot in your mind and then put it on paper. Use a pen with fast strokes. Don't be too careful. Don't belabor the process. Just do it fast. The first ten or twenty will turn out quite awkward, but then you'll start to make some really cool little sketches.
