Directions:Use repeated shapes to create a beautifully composed face in a small pencil drawing. Make this a highly finished drawing.
You can see in my example to the left I started with an eye shape.
Then I tried to repeat the same shape in the outline of the head (it's kind of like a giant eye turned sideways.)
Then I drew a second eye and shoulders, all with a similar shape. You can see how the shoulder shape is kind of a reflection of the head shape.
Then I complete the outline with similar curves.
And finally, shade your drawing. Notice how repeated shapes create unity and rhythm within the painting. This is something Picasso did a lot of.
